Before the Current: Community
2003 — First Underground Current
Hard Candy 1 — July 19, 2003 was Jason's first underground event. Evolution Entertainment initially engaged him as security; after several events, his role expanded to venue-wide blacklight installation and production support. Graduation did not cause the current. The completion of a 12–15-unit weekly upper-division course load released time that allowed existing opportunities to expand.
2004 — TELIC
Jason's primary participation was as a community member and event security. TELIC was a non-crew crew and a movement for the community. The approximately 11,000-square-foot warehouse supported events, artistic work, parade-float construction, and community gathering.
The final TELIC show occurred December 4, 2004, moved from December 31 after eminent domain related to Highway 880 expansion terminated the lease early.
2003–2004 — Evolic
Evolic was established independently as Evolution of Love In Community. A December 27, 2004 archive documented:
Through an Evolution of memory's of the Love In our Community...that most of us otherwise might not remember.
Keep a look out for SSP with many new and exciting things in store.

The Event Current
2005
FORWARD
First official Evolic-supported event. Sunshine Biscuit Factory, Oakland; approximately 700 people.
Throughout the evening, the outdoor courtyard carried the aroma of fresh chocolate chip cookies still being produced at the facility just across the street.
2005
The Mad Hatters Halloween Tea Party
First major SSP production. Six production companies, three rooms, and more than 1,500 participants chose collaboration over competition.
2006
Space Girls
SSP and Bionic Bubbles. All-female international lineup, original characters, approximately 50,000 flyers, and more than 1,500 guests.
2006
The Mad Hatters Revenge
Eight teams, four rooms, a 40 × 60-foot inflatable laser-tag arena, six carnival games, and free prizes. More than 1,500 guests by 10:30 PM.
2007
Space Girls 2
Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium. More than 40,000 flyers and just over 1,500 paid guests. Three-level performance stage, Vibration visuals, UV99 lasers, HardScience sound, custom flying saucer, choreographed performers, and immediate artist transitions.
August 2011–January 2012 — Cerebral Bass
A free monthly gathering for approximately 50–100 industry professionals, emerging artists, promoters, production companies, engineers, and community members.
May 5, 2012 — Supermoon Renegade
While developing the Singh Semi SSD facility in Houston, the community current continued. When the DJ mixer unexpectedly left, a mobile hotspot and laptop connected the Texas gathering to a live Bay Area performance until another mixer arrived.
Engineering exists to strengthen human connection.
