Welcome to the Journey of Currents
Every river begins with a single spring. As small streams converge, they form currents. Currents join together to become rivers, and rivers shape the landscapes through which they flow.
Knowledge grows in much the same way.
The Journey of Currents is not simply a record of what became understood. It is the preserved evolution of understanding itself.
Whether you choose to travel upstream toward the source, remain in the present current, or continue downstream toward new discoveries, every step is connected to the greater River of Understanding Currents.
Our hope is that the understanding you discover here becomes knowledge you carry with you, wisdom you apply throughout your own journey, and stewardship you perhaps one day share with others.

The Beginning
Observation
Inventory, yearly expenses, systems, engineering history, creative work, and community experience were initially approached as separate documentation needs.
Discussion
The deeper need was to preserve the understanding behind how systems were designed, why decisions were made, and how future stewards could continue the work without beginning again.
Decision
Create the Light Science Engineering Platform as a living body of knowledge rather than a collection of disconnected documents.
Publication Impact
LSES-M000 began as the first attempt to define the purpose and structure of the platform.
Looking Forward
The platform required a stable philosophical and engineering foundation.
The Foundation
Observation
A durable platform could not be built from technical documents alone. It required principles capable of surviving changes in technology, organizations, and generations.
Discussion
The work revealed recurring disciplines: fairness, kindness, hard work, constant conscious awareness, swift execution through prepared infrastructure, reserve capacity, stewardship, and engineering relationships where success naturally flows to everyone involved.
Decision
Establish LSES-M000 as the Foundation of Light Science and recognize that engineering is the stewardship of understanding rather than the pursuit of technology alone.
Canonical Understanding
If tomorrow becomes more difficult than today, will the system still succeed?

LSES-M000, LSES-M001, LSES-M100, LSBS-000, LSHS-100, and the first formal release architecture.

The Foundation explained what Light Science was, but not yet how understanding moved through it.
The River of Understanding Currents
Observation
Knowledge, community, experience, engineering, philosophy, business, and history did not move in a straight line. They often flowed concurrently, converged, separated, and strengthened one another.
Decision
Adopt the River of Understanding Currents as the organizing model of the Light Science ecosystem.
Canonical Statements
Every publication is a current. Every project is a tributary. Every conversation is a confluence. Together they form the River of Understanding Currents.
The road invites them to begin.
The river carries them in the flow.
Publication Impact
LSES-M010 was established, and LSES-M001 adopted: Every publication should answer today's question while naturally preparing the reader for tomorrow's understanding.

The source and identity of each major current had to be separated clearly.
Evolic and Light Science
Observation
Evolic and Light Science were connected, but they were not the same entity.
Discussion
Evolic was established independently in 2003 as Evolution of Love In Community. Social Synthesis Productions became the first production company intentionally founded upon that philosophy in 2005. Light Science AV was established in 2011, and Light Science became the broader engineering and immersive entity in 2014.
Decision
Preserve the independence of Evolic while clearly stating that Light Science is founded upon its philosophy.

Evolic (2003) → Social Synthesis Productions (2005) → Light Science AV (2011) → Light Science (2014) → LSEP (2026).

The next question became how to protect the evidence from disappearing.
Stewardship
Observation
Evolic.com, original email access, photographs, and hosted history were lost after a failed payment method in 2006. Much of the record survived only through scattered community archives, flyers, photographs, video, and Internet Archive captures.
Discussion
A publication can be refined or rewritten. A lost primary source cannot be recreated honestly.
Decision
Establish LSHA as a distinct archive system with raw preservation, normalized preservation, provenance, evidence levels, redundancy, and contextual publication.

Preserve first.

Looking Forward
Preserving sources was not enough. The platform also had to preserve how understanding changed from one entry to the next.
The Living Journey
Observation
A reader arriving on Day 346 cannot understand the current by reading only Entry 346.
Discussion
The Journey is not a diary and not merely a change log. It is the authoritative record of how understanding evolved.
Decision
Rename J000 as Journey of Currents and organize every entry around upstream influences, current understanding, downstream consequences, publications affected, canonical statements, and the next questions opened.
Canonical Statements
The Journey shall preserve the evolution of understanding, not merely its latest state.
The Foundation preserves what has become understood.
The Journey preserves how understanding became the Foundation.

Independent Systems Engineer Current
2006–Present: Jason continues as an Independent Systems Engineer, supporting the convergence of greater currents. As Chief Engineer and Founder of Light Science, Senior Video Engineer with Elevate Productions, Technical Director with Groove Event Management, and Engineer in Charge (EIC) / Technical Director with Event Technology Services (ETS), each current contributes to a broader engineering ecosystem where knowledge, experience, and collaboration continuously strengthen one another, allowing the communities in which they operate to grow beyond expectations for all parties involved.
Educational Mission
Knowledge is not diminished when shared. Like a river, it is renewed by continuing to flow. Stewardship is the choice to preserve that flow so others may begin their own journey.

The next current will continue downstream while remaining traceable upstream to the source.
